History of National Mall
The history of National Mall dates back to the period around the year, 1791. The idea of building the National Mall was given by Peter Charles in the year, 1791. During the beginning of the twentieth century, Charles's idea was granted and a plan was passed in the name of McMillan Commission Plan. The major railroad station was ordered to shift to a nearby area of the National mall.
Transport in National Mall
National Mall supports an easy transport system. One can avail the Washington Metro from the Smithsonian station, which is located on the southern side of the mall. Apart from these, there are a number of metro railway stations near the mall, which provide excellent metro rail service to passengers and tourists. Towards the southern part of the mall, there are parking facilities available. Metro buses are also available near the malls.
