The historical mission of National Geographic Society is: to increase and diffuse geographic knowledge while promoting the conservation of world’s historical, natural and cultural resources. This museum exhibits popular traveling exhibits like the “King Tut” exhibit that features spectacular artifacts from the tomb of the young Egyptian Pharaoh, Tutankhamen. This society was founded in Washington, D.C. on January 27, 1888, by 33 scientists and explorers who were interested to organize a society for the diffusion and increase of geographical knowledge.
